The Dual Tamale Masa Spreading Board and Cutting Board – Where Love Gathers

The Dual Tamale Masa Spreading Board is a custom-engraved, hand-assembled tool built for tamale making and family tradition. Also known as a tamale masa spreader, it is designed for repeated use and made to last for many tamaladas. When you’re done making tamales, remove the hardware and the bamboo board underneath works as a cutting board too.

Two Functions in One Thoughtful Design

Use the acrylic insert on top to spread masa cleanly and evenly. When you're finished, remove the three thumb screws holding the hinge cover in place (secured into wood inserts on the back of the board) and take off the hinge cover and acrylic piece entirely. What's left is a sturdy, full-size bamboo board ready to use as a cutting board, no separate tool needed.

Built to Last

Unlike the flimsy, single-use tamale spreaders on the market, this is built like a piece of furniture:

• Full-length hinge running the entire width of the board, so the acrylic lid opens and closes smoothly without stress points or wobble.

• Stainless steel hardware throughout, no rusting, no corroding, even with repeated washing.

• Carbon fiber-reinforced clamps and hinge cover for a secure, no-slip hold while spreading, and a durable finish that won't crack or wear out season after season.

The bamboo board includes side handles and juice grooves. Each piece is custom-engraved and assembled with care and attention to detail. Because bamboo is a natural material, the color, grain, markings, and overall appearance may vary from piece to piece. These natural differences make each board unique.

Where Love Gathers Design

The Where Love Gathers design features custom laser engraving celebrating family, togetherness, and the traditions shared around the table. Each board includes the recipe and instructions on the back, along with the Scratch & Tradition logo.

Care Instructions

For the bamboo board, hand wash only. Wipe clean gently and dry after cleaning. Do not soak or place in the dishwasher. For the removable acrylic piece, wipe down with a soapy washcloth and dry with a soft cloth.

Please Note

Each board features a custom design on natural bamboo, so no two pieces will look exactly the same. Wood grain, color, markings, and the way the design appears on the board may vary due to the natural structure of the wood. Small variations may occur.
